UX Brand Innovation
Notpla is a plastics-alternative brand that uses seaweed to package liquids. Notpla’s “Ooho” pods are like small edible water bottles that can be filled with almost any liquid imaginable. In fact, they were handed out to runners at the 2019 London Marathon.
Because single-use coffee creamers create more plastic waste per ounce of liquid than any other drink, our idea was to co-brand with major creamer companies and use the water-soluble pods to store cream.
For this project we designed three brand innovations for Ooho pods. These include a yogurt carton, in-store dispenser, and a take-home box.
Yogurt Carton
This box made of 100% recycled cardboard contains three large Ooho water pods filled with yogurt. This innovation presents another opportunity for Notpla to cobrand with other companies. More environmentally-friendly than any other drinkable yogurt packaging, these boxes could be perfect for Dannon, Chobani, or Yoplait. To ensure accessibility, all product information would also be written in Braille on one the side of carton and other packing materials.
Pod Box
This take-home box is made from 100% recycled cardboard and perfect for carrying a pack of two dozen creamer pods.
